ABOUT PHILL
The person behind the songs.
Phill Proctor is a Nashville-based songwriter, drummer, and multi-instrumentalist whose musical roots go back to childhood. He began playing drums at age eight, and by the mid-1980s had expanded into guitar and other instruments, which naturally led him into songwriting.
Drums have always remained his primary instrument. During high school, Phill served as lead percussionist and spent time playing with a small jam band alongside a guitarist and bassist, developing the musical instincts that would continue to shape his writing.
In 2006, he became the drummer for Nashville band Ursa Major, performing publicly around the Nashville area. Over the years, his musical interests have grown across rock, country, pop, blues, and singer-songwriter styles.
At heart, Phill approaches music as both a songwriter and a musician—writing from personal experience while drawing on decades of playing, arranging, and experimenting with different instruments and styles.
